Our Story

Drew Garcia was born in Los Angeles, then raised in Boise. As a kid he was inspired by the films of Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and others and decided to pick up the family VHS camcorder to tell his own stories. His younger brother Nate would star in all his films, and this creative collaboration would span into adulthood.

1998

In 2015, Drew and Nate Garcia founded Ice Cream Entertainment.

They spent many years co-directing television commercials, short films and a studio feature. In 2017 they made their award winning short Hero which ultimately landed them representation at APA, Beverly Hills. Today, Nate works as a producer with his company Memory Palace. The brothers regularly team up on projects.

2017

During the pandemic Drew directed his second feature length documentary entitled 828.

The story follows Cary Judd, who found solace riding his electric skateboard after losing both his parents in 2020. He set his sights on a world record attempt to ride around the Iceland Ring Road. The film is now available on streaming platforms everywhere.

2021

In 2022 Drew was tapped by Warner Brothers to make a narrative feature.

Drew and Nate co-directed Treasure Trackers — An homage to the adventure films they loved as kids. In addition to directing, Drew took the helm as director of photography and drone pilot. Nate and Drew also tackled the editing of the film. The movie will be released on major streaming platforms in 2023.
